SUMMARY:UK Airports Health & Safety Week 2026
DESCRIPTION:Enhancing safety\, preventing incidents\, and supporting well-being \nHealth and safety is at the heart of everything airports do\, and Health and Safety Week is an opportunity to recognise this commitment and the work delivered every day. \nThe week reinforces essential safety behaviours\, regulatory compliance\, and a positive well being culture through focused learning and engagement\, helping to strengthen operational safety\, improve efficiency\, and support a better passenger experience. \nThis year\, our focus will be on three key themes: \n1. Occupational Health Risks (COSHH\, vibration\, noise\, musculoskeletal disorders) \n2.	Mental Health\, Well being\, and Safety Culture \n \n3.	Climate Change and Safety in Outdoor Operations \n \nKey Themes and Activities \nAs in previous years\, any and all airport teams can take part. Airports can also engage their wider airport community such as service providers\, business partners\, and contractors to support activities throughout the week. \n*Please note that whilst airports are welcome to address additional topics relevant to your airport\, entries for the safety awards will be assessed solely against the three designated themes.* \n1. Occupational Health Risks (COSHH\, vibration\, noise\, musculoskeletal disorders) \nObjective: Reduce occupational health risks by reinforcing correct procedures\, promoting mechanical aid use\, strengthening monitoring and reporting\, and enhancing cross team understanding of common hazards and mitigation measures. \n \n2. Mental Health\, Well-being and Safety Culture \n \nObjective: Reduce risks to mental health and well being by strengthening supportive workplace practices\, promoting awareness of stress related factors\, and fostering a positive safety culture built on openness\, accountability\, and continuous improvement. \n \n3. Climate Change and Safety in Outdoor Operations \n \n Objective: Reduce risks associated with climate related conditions in outdoor operations by strengthening preparedness for extreme weather\, promoting safe working practices\, and enhancing awareness of environmental factors that affect staff safety and operational reliability. \nAirportsUK H&S Award Ceremony 2026 – further details on how to enter and the date for the ceremony will be published here shortly.
