DESCRIPTION:AirportsUK’s Sustainability Group brings together managers in relevant areas from across our member airports to discuss and take collective action on the sector’s commitment to Climate Change obligations and other issues. \nThe key issues we have identified for the coming years are climate change\, noise in the wake of Covid\, waste\, and adaptation. \nAirportsUK’s full engagement in this area is also addressed by our participation in (and part funding of) the cross-industry Sustainable Aviation (SA) coalition. \nThis group receives feedback via AirportsUK on SA’s work and shapes AirportsUK’s input to it. \nFor more information\, please email info@airportsuk.org.

DESCRIPTION:The group represents a broad mix of UK airports and specialist stakeholders to collaborate on subjects of common interest and purpose. \nIt seeks to improve airports’ collective ability to manage occupational health and safety risks\, provide a platform where members can consider new risks and feed into other industry groups and consultations. \nMembers are able to openly share information\, performance\, procedures\, learning from incidents\, and best practices experiences to benefit wider upskilling and focus on maximising best practices by sharing safety performance metrics allowing for UK airport benchmarking. \nIt is a a place where committed industry stakeholders can share individual plans and manage the key technical\, policy and regulatory dependencies whilst gaining and providing independent and transparent cross-industry insight. \nThe Health & Safety Working Group takes the lead in organising the AirportsUK’s hugely successful annual national campaign: UK Airports Health & Safety Week. \nFor more information\, please email info@airportsuk.org.

DESCRIPTION:The Aerodrome Safeguarding working group brings together airport staff responsible for safeguarding activities to act as a single point of contact for airport safeguarding technical and regulatory matters in the UK. \nSafeguarding activities at an aerodrome involves liaising with local planning authorities\, analysing the impact of developments on an airport’s safe operations\, including: the height of buildings\, landscaping\, wildlife hazards\, impact on CNS equipment and instrument flight procedures (IFPs)\, glint and glare\, lighting and obstacle lighting. \nMembers of the working group share best practice and technical expertise\, debate and consult on regulatory development and liaise with the CAA on changes in the current and future regulatory framework. \nThe membership works towards ensuring consistent standards are being delivered by all stakeholders in the industry. \nThe working group meets at least twice a year and provides the chance for professionals to upskill via bespoke training and through liaising with industry experts to learn about new technologies and trends. \nFor more information please email info@airportsuk.org.
