DESCRIPTION:The AirportsUK Security Working Group gathers security compliance managers and airport heads of security to discuss the latest iterations of aviation security regulation\, changing threats to aviation and the technology to respond to those threats. \nThe Security Working Group is joined on a quarterly basis by representatives from AirportsUK’s non-airport members who contribute a supply-wide perspective to discussions. \nThe group is often joined by representatives from the Civil Aviation Authority and Department for Transport who update airports and other attendees on the latest thinking regarding aviation security from Central Government. \nRecent topics of focus for the group include the Next Generation Security Checkpoint the Access Pass Holders Information Distribution System (APHIDS) and aviation security’s response to new and emerging threats. \nFor more information\, please email info@airportsuk.org.

DESCRIPTION:This joint meeting of AirportUK’s Public Affairs and Communications Network (PACN) and Policy Committee supports our work representing UK airports to government ministers and officials\, national and regional politicians\, wider stakeholders\, the media and the general public. \nMembers of PACN and the Policy Committee inform\, discuss and shape the AOA’s policy\, public affairs and media priorities and outreach to MPs (including the Future of Aviation APPG)\, MSPs\, MSs\, MLAs and other directly elected figures across the UK. \nThe groups meet both formally to update on and discuss a full range of issues and hear from knowledgeable\, informed and relevant speakers\, and are consulted on an ad hoc basis on specific issues as they arise. \nCurrent issues include the competitiveness and attractiveness of aviation\, sustainability issues\, borders\, airspace modernisation and airport/airline regulatory policy. \nFor more on this excellent opportunity for airport colleagues to connect over work they are doing in support of their businesses\, please email info@airportsuk.org.
